NORAM Engineering & B.C Research Establish Strong LignoForce™ Presence at the 1st PAPTAC Interna

Delegates from NORAM and B.C Research were recently in attendance at the 1st PAPTAC international lignin conference. The conference was held between September 18-20 2018 in Edmonton, Alberta. The purpose of the conference was to discuss recent progress in all aspects of lignin chemistry and utilization in several sessions, including:
Lignin analysis and characterization methodology
Lignin extraction from pulping liquors or other biomass processing operations
Lignin process integration into pulp mill or other biomass processing operations
Lignin depolymerization and/or modification
Lignin applications and products
Delegates from NORAM Engineering were proud to present their paper titled ““Kraft Lignin Production: a LignoForce™ Perspective” outlining the capabilities of their patented LignoForce™ technology. The LignoForce™ process was jointly developed by NORAM, FPInnovations and BC Research to recover high quality, low odor lignin from black liquor. The process has been scaled up to a 30 TPD commercial plant in Hinton, AB.
Delegates from B.C Research Inc. were proud to present a poster highlighting the capabilities of its LignoForce™ lignin extraction pilot plant. The pilot plant is capable of extracting lignin from various kraft black liquor feedstocks for application testing purposes.
